I must be up too late — at first glance I thought the title said “Cross-dressing (or not)” ; )

I'm glad it's not just me! I think I've come to terms with it by manually posting links to the stuff I would really like people to see. It's the every-post-all-the-time cross-posting that makes me twitchy.

I've had this same debate with myself multiple times in the past. Posting to a feed does feel like I'm forcing people to have to go through my posts. Almost like a grab for attention at times.

I actually feel it's a bigger problem with Read.Write.as as opposed to Micro.blog. The reason being, there's no way for people to filter out your posts on the Read.Write.as feed, while on Micro.blog other people can mute your account to avoid seeing updates.

I'm not really sure there's a right or wrong way to go about it though.

Lately I've been thinking of creating another blog for micro posts. The same issue will come up when I create that blog; should I publish to the feed or not. Publishing to a feed guarantees an audience, but at the cost of the audience's attention. Not publishing to a feed can sometimes feel like publishing into a void, and kinda defeats the purpose of having a micro blog for sharing content quickly.
