Great idea adding a favorite button on R.W.a! I can definitely make that happen.
I am leaning more toward that separation, with RWa as the “discovery” feed / communal well, and Remark.as as the more private, self-curated one. The whole idea being that we need to keep those uncurated places and allow for some serendipity. But could you describe what you mean by this, Matthew?
Or maybe a way to build a more social area, such as what micro.blog has, but looser. If that makes sense.
To your other point, yes a “feed reader”-ish feature will come out of this. Favorites were just the easiest thing to implement that would work with any possible website. The goal is to simplify all these actions — adding a site to your blogroll or following a fediverse profile or subbing to a feed — so ultimately people don't even have to worry about whether it's an RSS feed, email subscription, or whatever.
Matthew, I definitely second the R.w.a bookmarks idea. Or a way to simply “bookmark” a blog and then auto-link it to the Remark.as “feed”. I like to see/discover a lot of different and new blogs on R.w.a (that's the beauty of it – an un-curated feed), but, to keep a list of stuff (blogs/writers) I interact with on the regular within Remark.as could be helpful, too.
IDK, a lot of possibilities, I suppose
Look forward to seeing what all comes together, Micro Matt
I was wondering where you might be headed with bookmarks. My “bookmark” for blogs I follow usually means, “add to my feed reader”.
I’d like to see a way to filter/highlight/prioritize posts on R.W.as and could see how bookmarks could drive that. Or maybe a way to build a more social area, such as what micro.blog has, but looser. If that makes sense.
